West Hancock Takes Additional Security Measures

Security is one of the prime levels of importance for the West Hancock Community School District. The school has taken a number of steps, especially at the high school level to protect its students. One measure recently passed by the Iowa Legislature and signed by Governor Reynolds allows school personnel to carry guns. West Hancock Community Schools Superintendent Wayne Kronemann stated the district has established a policy toward that.

Kronemann explained that the school district buildings have a tremendous amount of video coverage.

While video coverage is important, other measures have been taken to add to the security of the buildings.

Kronemann and the West Hancock School Board are taking steps to make sure they have all measures in place before taking others approved by the state.
