In Hancock County court, Rebecca Olson has pled not guilty to charges of embezzling thousands of dollars from the Garner Chaber of Commerce where she was formerly the executive director.
The Garner Chamber did an audit of their finances and books only to discover that the money was missing between January 2021 and April 2024. Olson was director at that time but was released by the chamber board after the discrepancies were discovered and allegedly linked to her. The Garner Police Department conducted an investigation and then arrested Olson on embezzlement charges.
The trial for Olson has been scheduled to start on October 30th
