New Faces in Places of Leadership for Charles City School District

The Charles City School District opened the first day of classes Friday (08.23) with new faces in places of leadership.
After starting on an interim basis in June, Brian Burnight took over officially as Superintendent July 1st.
Prior to coming to Charles City, Burnight was Director of Elementary Education in the Sioux City School District from 2012 to 2023.
New Charles City High School Principal Levi Miller says he wants to lead with positivity, because it has a “trickle down effect.”
Miller previously worked in the Nashua-Plainfield School District, including serving as the Huskies varsity baseball coach.
Also entering her first year at the helm is Lincoln Elementary Principal Chelsey Moen, promoted from her position as the school’s Lead Teacher. Meanwhile, Joe Carney enters his second year as principal at Washington Elementary.
