Britt Council Prepares to Sell Golf Course

The Britt City Council met this past week to discuss the future of the Britt Golf Course which the city owns. Recently the President of the Britt Golf Course Board resigned forcing the city to amend its lease with the board. The city council also took immediate action on the process of selling the course.
Jenna Sabroske of Ahlers and Cooney Law Firm advised the council to begin the process of getting Requests for Proposals or RFP’s.
The council is looking to set criteria including keeping the site as a golf course. They are also setting a minimum purchase price for the property. Mayor Jim Nelson liked the idea of setting criteria for the sale of the course.
The city council will continue to hold meetings with the law firm to iron out criteria for the RFP’s. Once completed, the city expects to begin the bidding process.
