Hearing today on Libertarians dispute of being on November ballot

DES MOINES — A hearing is scheduled for today in Polk County District Court after a judge ruled on Wednesday that the certification of Iowa ballots for this November’s general election must be halted.
That hearing today will allow for three Libertarian candidates for the United States House a chance to argue that they should be listed as candidates on the ballot.
Two Republicans on a three-member state panel last week agreed with the argument that the Libertarian Party violated state law by holding caucuses and county conventions on the same day.
The three candidates include 4th District candidate Charles Aldrich of Clarion as well as 1st District candidates Nicholas Gluba of Lone Tree and 3rd District candidate Marco Battaglia of Des Moines.
