Grassley says he’ll be watching for answers on the economy at tonight’s debate

WASHINGTON — Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says he’ll be watching tonight’s presidential debate closely.

He says the economy should be a focal point of that discussion. “At almost every Q & A session I’ve held this year in the 99 counties, Iowans raised concern about the high cost of living, particularly for food. Prices are up 20% since the Biden/Harris administration took office.”

Grassley says some of that sticker shock at the grocery store happens on the farm as well. “You know how the cost of feed fertilizer, diesel, interest, machinery parts have gone up. This adds up to the Department of Agriculture estimating farm income will drop 6.8% from what it was last year . This projection is a very sad commentary.”

Tonight’s debate is being held in Philadelphia and is being hosted by ABC. It starts at 8:00 PM Iowa time and will be available on most of the major broadcast news networks.
