Authorities look into possible threat made on social media to Clear Lake schools

CLEAR LAKE — Authorities are investigating a possible school threat to the Clear Lake Community School District.

Just after 7:30 last night, the Clear Lake Police Department received reports of the possible threat on social media that includes a list of schools, one of which was Clear Lake.

Investigators say they’ve looked into the matter and determined that the list of schools published on social media is from outside of the state, and they are working on forwarding information to authorities in the proper state.

At this time no credible threat has been identified, and school district officials say they’ve been working hand-in-hand with the police department to ensure a safe learning environment for both students and staff, and they’ll be taking extra steps to ensure their ongoing safety.
