Wisconsin man accused of sexual abuse in Mason City pleads not guilty

MASON CITY — A Wisconsin man accused of sexually abusing an underage girl on two separate occasions in Mason City has pleaded not guilty.
19-year-old Reed Jacobsen of Steuben Wisconsin was charged in late July with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse with a child victim related by blood. A criminal complaint states that Jacobson committed a sex act with a 15-year-old victim who was related by blood on two consecutive evenings in 2022 in a southeastern Mason City home.
Jacobson was arrested in Crawford County Wisconsin on August 21st and transported to Cerro Gordo County. Jacobson was due to have his arraignment hearing on Monday but filed a written plea of not guilty in Cerro Gordo County District Court. District Judge DeDra Schroeder set his trial to start on October 22nd.
Third-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.
Jacobson is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $20,000 cash-only bond.
