CLEAR LAKE — The man who popularized the Twist dance style has been named as the feature headliner for the upcoming Winter Dance Party at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake.
Chubby Checker & the Wildcats will perform on Saturday night February 1st along with The Duprees, Albert Lee & Jeremy Clyde, as well as The Midnight Cowgirls.
Things will start on Wednesday night January 29th with a Winter Dance Party Warm-Up Party with Austin Allsup and special guest Richie Lee.
Thursday night will be John Mueller’s Winter Dance Party. Friday night will have Shake Baby Shake & the Lovettes, Big Sandy & His Flyrite Boys, and the Holy Rocka Rollaz.
Tickets for the Winter Dance Party go on sale starting October 1st. A three-day pass for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night’s concerts will be sold for $135.
