One Dead After Fiery UTV Crash in Northeast Iowa

One person was killed in a fiery UTV crash in northeast Iowa.
The Iowa State Patrol says the crash occurred at the intersection of North Union Road and West Cedar Wapsi Road in Cedar Falls about 1:30 pm Monday (09.16) afternoon. The driver of a Polaris Ranger UTV failed to yield and turned left in front of a Chrysler 200. Both vehicles came to a rest in the ditch, with the UTV catching on fire.
The UTV driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 56-year-old Andrew Clark of Cedar Falls, a retired Waterloo Police Sergeant.
The driver of the car was 41-year-old Karl Tompkins of Ryan.
The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, MercyOne and Covenant EMS, and the Waterloo and Cedar Falls fire departments also responded to the scene.
