River City Sculptures on Parade “Best in Show” announced

MASON CITY — The “Best in Show” winner of this year’s River City Sculptures on Parade has been announced.
Edith Blanchard was part of the local jury who made the decision. “The winning sculpture this year is ‘Trickle’ by Mark Hall of Wasota Minnesota, and is created of steel and glass. The location of this sculpture is on the corner of North Federal and East State Street, so that’s just one block south of City Hall.”
Blanchard says the sculpture has a rain-drop look to it. “Hall states the inspiration for the piece came from spending many years in the Minnesota Boundary Waters, and you can see that really expressed in the crisp, clear refreshing water images that are found in the piece.”
With being the “Best in Show” winner, Hall wins a $2000 stipend.
