MASON CITY — Severe weather is possible later this afternoon across our listening area. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has our area under a slight risk of severe weather.

Severe weather is possible late this afternoon to evening across central Iowa, though the highest chances of severe storms remain over northern Iowa.

Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats, along with the low potential for a tornado or two.
