Ames boys, Forest City girls take Clear Lake cross country titles; Lions’ Doughan wins girls race

CLEAR LAKE — The Ames boys and Forest City girls won the team titles at the Clear Lake Invitational cross country meet held at the Veterans Memorial Golf Course on Thursday.

Forest City took the girls title with 38 points with Clear Lake ending as runner-up with 79 points. Central Springs was third with 99. Addison Doughan of Clear Lake won the girls race in a time of 20:05.

Ames took the boys title with 37 points, followed by Garner-Hayfield-Ventura with 59, Forest City with 72, and Clear Lake and Newman finished tied for fourth with 127. Zach Flatebo and Jonah Pringnitz of GHV took the top two spots in times of 17:06 and 17:35.
