Week 4 high school football local preview, schedule

WAVERLY — #1/3A Clear Lake travels to Waverly-Shell Rock to wrap up the non-district portion of their schedule. The Lions are 3-0 and have outscored their opponents by a 135-to-21 margin. Lions coach Aaron Stensland says despite having a 1-2 record, the Go-Hawks should provide a challenge tonight, and the schedule gets tougher from here.

MASON CITY — It’s Homecoming at Mason City High tonight as they host Charles City. The Riverhawks are 1-2 after a 42-22 loss at Gilbert last week. Coach Josh Reuter says tonight’s game wraps up a four-week stretch of evaluating his team prior to district play.
