Cerro Gordo supervisors approve updating annexation petition for Tractor Supply Company development

MASON CITY — The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors Monday approved the signing of a petition updating the voluntary annexation of a parcel of land on Mason City’s west side from the county to the city.
County administrative officer Tom Meyer says the piece of land deals with the Tractor Supply Company development near the county’s law enforcement center. “We had signed a voluntary annexation for that whole parcel back when this started. Since then, we’ve obviously had some activity in the southern half of that parcel, so we’ve condensed the amount that will be voluntarily annexed. The block is above that waterway which will be a cutoff for any future sale of the land to the south, so the whole parcel, it’s revising to just half the parcel will be voluntarily annexed into the city. The remainder of the south half will stay in the Cerro Gordo County limits.”
The new store is being constructed at the intersection of State Highway 122 and Lark Avenue.
