Cedar Falls woman dead after fatal accident south of Ventura Sunday

VENTURA — One person is dead after a two-vehicle accident south of Ventura in Cerro Gordo County on Sunday.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at about 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the intersection of County Roads S-14 and B-43, four miles south of Ventura.

A vehicle driven by 29-year-old Adaisha Allen of Cedar Falls was westbound on B-43 while a vehicle driven by 59-year-old Julie Mikkelsen of Mason City was southbound on S-14.

Allen’s vehicle was struck by Mikkelsen’s, with both vehicles rolling and entering the ditch and field located to the southwest of the intersection.

Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by the State Patrol with the assistance of the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office.
