NIACC roundup — DeLong wins another golf title; soccer shutout sweep of Northwest Iowa CC

ALBERT LEA — For the third time this fall, NIACC women’s golfer Meghan DeLong has won medalist honors. DeLong on Sunday won the Waldorf University Fall Invitational at the Wedgewood Cove Golf Course in Albert Lea. The freshman from Clear Lake shot a career-best round of 72 to claim the individual honors by four strokes. NIACC tied for fifth in the team standings with a 349. Waldorf was the champion with a 324. 

== The NIACC men’s golf team finished tied for second at the Waldorf University Fall Invitational on Sunday. Grand View University was the champion with a 295. NIACC was joined by Iowa Lakes and Waldorf in the three-way tie for second with 297. NIACC sophomore Bennett Berger finished second with a 68, two shots behind the medalist. NIACC’s “B” squad finished sixth with a 322.

SHELDON — The NIACC men’s and women’s soccer teams both posted shutout wins over Northwest Iowa Community College on Saturday afternoon in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference contests in Sheldon. The NIACC men scored a goal in each half to pick up a 2-0 win. Elia Salvatore Antonini and Nicolo Cimini tallied for the Trojans, who are now 8-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference. The NIACC women beat Northwest Iowa 9-0. Karly Holm had five goals and added two assists to lead the Trojans, who are now 4-3-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference. Both NIACC teams host Hawkeye Community College on Wednesday afternoon.
