Rockwell man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop between Mason City, Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE — A Rockwell man has been jailed on felony drug charges after a stop in between Mason City and Clear Lake over the weekend.
A criminal complaint says law enforcement pulled over 35-year-old Dustin Burkhardt at about 12:15 Sunday morning near the intersection of State Highway 122 and Jonquil Avenue for traffic violations. An officer says they located a methamphetamine pipe in the center console, as well as meth and a knife with a blade over eight inches in a backpack.
Burkhardt was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on charges of possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as operating while intoxicated first offense. He’s being held on a total of $26,000 cash-only bond.
Burkhardt is due in court for his preliminary hearing on October 9th.
