Mason City High girls, Forest City boys win Algona cross country team titles

ALGONA — The Mason City High girls and Forest City boys won the team titles at the Algona Cross Country Invitational on Monday:

 

== Forest City edged Okoboji for the boys title, with the Indians winning with 69 points with Okoboji second with 71. Clear Lake finished fourth as a team with 146 points, while Mason City High was eighth with 190 points. Brandon Hughes of Spirit Lake won the race in a time of 16:52. Henry Hansen had Mason City’s best time, finishing eighth in a time of 17:44 Gavin Roske had Clear Lake’s best finish, placing 19th in a time of 18:10. 

 

== Mason City won the girls team title with 46 points, Forest City was second with 61 points, followed by Clear Lake in third with 93 points. Tyra Schupbach of West Bend-Mallard won the girls race in a time of 19:31. Addison Doughan of Clear Lake was runner-up in a time of 19:59. Mason City’s best finish was from Brogan Evans, who was sixth in a time of 20:24.
