Hampton-Dumont CSD addresses “vague threat”

HAMPTON — The Hampton-Dumont Community School District sent out a notification on Tuesday to parents about what they called “an alleged vague threat” at Hampton-Dumont High School.

Superintendent Aaron Becker in the statement said an ongoing investigation was being conducted in collaboration with local law enforcement and district officials. Becker continued to say that they had addressed the individual involved and implemented their safety protocols to ensure the well-being of students and staff.

A message later in the day from Becker to parents stated that after discussions with local law enforcement that it remained safe to educate students. That message continued to say that the threat was made at the very end of the school day on Monday, and at the time, the student was already removed from campus and has not been allowed back into the facility until investigations were completed.

Becker says this is an ongoing investigation and the district is fully cooperating with law enforcement.
