Football preview — Clear Lake, Mason City travel in district play, area Week 7 schedule

HAMPTON — Clear Lake tries to bounce back from a loss to #1 Algona last week as they travel to Hampton-Dumont-CAL in Class 3A District 2 play. Lions coach Aaron Stensland says his team knows they need to focus on this week’s game and not look at the district race and their playoff chances.

MASON CITY — Mason City High hits the road to face Waverly-Shell Rock in Class 4A District 2 play. The Riverhawks have dropped their first two district contests and face a Go-Hawks team that is in a three-way tie for second place in the district with Western Dubuque and Marion, Mason City’s opponents in their final two weeks of the regular season. Coach Josh Reuter says Waverly-Shell Rock will be a challenging opponent tonight.
