Mason City Chamber of Commerce holds annual meetings, hands out several awards

MASON CITY — The Mason City Chamber of Commerce held their annual meeting on Thursday afternoon and handed out several awards:

 

== The 2024 “Business of the Year” was awarded to Five Star Cooperative. The 135-year-old business has remained steadfast in its commitment to excellence and community. After their location was devastated by a tornado in 2022, the team rallied together to ensure that customers were still taken care of during the busy spring season. 

 

== Hearing Associates owner and audiologist Stuart Trembath was named “Boss of the Year”. Trembath leads a team of 14 employees who described him in their nomination letter as more than just a leader, but also as a mentor who fosters growth and encourages innovation. 

 

== The “Workplace Wellness Award” winner was Clear Lake Bank & Trust, who is committed to fostering a healthy workforce by promoting employee wellness through diverse, supportive initiatives. 

 

== and Dennis Wilson was named as the “2024 Distinguished Citizen”. Wilson was recognized for his outstanding service and commitment to Mason City. A longtime volunteer, he is best known for his unwavering support of the Friends of the 457 and the Cannonball Gardens, where he has played an instrumental role in preserving and promoting those local treasures.
