Front entry of Cerro Gordo County Courthouse reopens Tuesday after security upgrade project
MASON CITY — The front entry to the Cerro Gordo County Courthouse will be once again open starting tomorrow.
County administrative officer Tom Meyer told the county’s Board of Supervisors this morning that despite some final things needing to be done on the project’s punch list, the front entry will be open. “The front entrance right now, the outside ingress doors, over the ADA button, they’re waiting on a part. The plan is they’ll be here Wednesday to finish installing that, but we’ll have the doors open tomorrow, the front entrance will be operational tomorrow.”
Meyer says the courthouse will return to having the only point of entry being the front doors. “We’ll probably just have a sign back there that says the front entrance is now open. Otherwise, if that deputy is upstairs, you have two doors people coming in and out, there’s only one deputy between the two doors. So yeah, tomorrow morning at 8:00 those doors will be open.”
The new entry has four double doors, with two doors leading inside and two others leading outside as part of the security upgrade.
