NIACC women’s soccer team wins at Marshalltown, men fall

MARSHALLTOWN — The NIACC women’s soccer team picked up a 9-0 win at Marshalltown Community College on Saturday. Maya Gildroy had a hat trick and also handed out two assists to lead the Trojans. Emmalyse Bordignon and Carris Power also scored two goals for NIACC, as they improve to 5-5-2 overall and 3-3 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
The NIACC men fell to Marshalltown 1-0. NIACC had six shots on goal but could not tally. The Trojan men fall to 9-4 overall and 2-3 in the conference. Both NIACC squads have tough tests coming up on Wednesday at home. The NIACC men host top-ranked Iowa Lakes, while the eighth-ranked Iowa Lakes women’s team visits NIACC on Wednesday.
