Woden man accused of wife’s death found guilty of second-degree murder

GARNER — A Hancock County jury has found a Woden man accused of murdering his wife last October guilty of second-degree murder.
57-year-old Roger Crews Junior is accused of murdering his wife Karen on October 27th of last year. Authorities found Karen Crews dead after responding to a call for a welfare check at their home on the morning of October 28th. A criminal complaint states Roger Crews was the one who made that call to authorities. Crews was arrested later that night in Freeborn County Minnesota and charged with first-degree murder.
Court documents filed on Monday morning in Hancock County District Court state that the jury found Crews guilty of the lesser charge of second-degree murder. That’s a Class B forcible felony punishable by up to 50 years in prison.
Court records did not immediately state a sentencing date.
