Timothy John Simpson 62, Clear Lake

Timothy John Simpson 62, passed away on October 18th, 2024, at his home unexpectedly.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday October 24, 2024, at the Clear Lake VFW 219
Main Ave. Clear Lake, IA 50428; with Mark Doebel leading the service. A visitation held one hour prior to
the service. Military honors will be conducted by members of the Clear Lake VFW Post 4868. Inurnment
will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed in the care of Brandy Davis.
Tim was born on January 22, 1962, the son of John and Donna (Jones) Simpson. Tim graduated from
high school in Clear Lake, IA. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving his country until his
honorable discharge. Upon returning home, he found time to attend cosmetology school. Tim continued
to hold the knowledge and skill of his work to do his nieces and family members hair.
Tim had a passion for travel, which led him to live in various places across the country, including
California, Arizona, and Des Moines. Wherever he went, Tim stayed busy, finding fulfillment in jobs
ranging from customer service to dietary aide roles. Most recently, he worked in janitorial services at
Curries in Mason City, finding satisfaction in hands-on work.
In his free time, Tim enjoyed painting beautiful landscapes, drawing comics, and camping in the great
outdoors. His creative spirit and love for family were constants in his life. Known fondly as Uncle
“Gumby,” Tim was always there for his family, bringing joy and laughter to those who knew him.
Tim is survived by his nieces and nephews; Lindsey Brooking (fiancé Jacob Oeltjenbruns), Brandy (Adam)
Davis, Troy Simpson and family, Camie Simpson, Rose Simpson, and great nieces and nephews; Zaden
Brooking, Abbraxlynn Gonsalez, Maebrey Gonsalez, Gatley Gonsalez, Jared Oeltjenbruns, Tyson
Oeltjenbruns, Landry Davis, Tori Davis.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, grandparents, parents, brother, Dale Simpson; sister,
Brenda Brooking.
