Charles City man pleads guilty to federal firearms possession charge

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Charles City man has pleaded guilty to a federal firearms charge.
31-year-old Dashaune Terrell Burns-Johnson entered a guilty plea to one count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person during a hearing in US District Court in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday.
The US Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa’s office says that at the plea hearing, Burns-Johnson admitted that on May 22nd of this year that he knowingly possessed a pistol and that he previously had been convicted of a domestic abuse felony.
Burns-Johnson faces a prison term of up to 15 years and a $250,000 fine when he’s sentenced at a later date.
