MASON CITY — A Mason City man is in jail on drug and gun charges after the execution of a search warrant at his home.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says they executed the warrant at about 10:30 Thursday morning at 605 11th Northeast with the assistance of the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force. 33-year-old Jacob Shafer was arrested on six outstanding warrants and as the suspect as part of a gun and drug investigation.
During the search, authorities say they found stolen property, suspected illegal firearms, and methamphetamine. Shafer is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a total of $13,000 bond on five different failure to appear in court charges and on one charge of violation of probation for trafficking in stolen weapons.
The Sheriff’s Office says the case is ongoing and anyone with information on stolen property, firearms or drug crimes should contact their office
