Patrick Piper, 56, formerly of Mason City

Patrick Paul Piper, 56, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, formerly of Mason City, Iowa, passed away on Saturday October 26, 2024 at the Owatonna Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, Iowa. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 4:00 PM.
Patrick was born on August 17, 1968, the son of Richard “Butch” and Dorothy (Norris) Piper of Nora Springs, Iowa. After Patrick’s father passed away Dorothy remarried to Delbert Witt and he became a loving step-dad. He was a graduate of Nora Springs Rock Falls High School. Patrick began his career at McDonald’s during high school and continued working there after graduation.
On June 26, 1993, Patrick married Tracy Shellhart in Mason City, Iowa, together the couple raised two daughters. Following his time at McDonald’s, the family moved to Albert Lea. Patrick spent the next 15 years working at Love’s as the General Manager. While at Love’s Travel Stops, he particularly enjoyed the annual September events supporting the Children’s Miracle Network. This experience not only allowed him to engage with his community but also to contribute to a cause he was passionate about.
Known for his sense of humor, Patrick loved spending time with family and was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan. An avid watcher of Survivor, he enjoyed discussing the show with loved ones. He was also an excellent cook, especially skilled in barbecue, and while he once loved working on cars, he now preferred watching automotive shows. His passion for life and laughter made him a cherished presence in the lives of those around him.
Those left to cherish memories of Patrick are his wife, Tracy; daughters, Alyssa (Nate Stoeckel) Piper, and Brittany (Christopher Schmidt) Piper; grandchildren, Kathryn, Liam, Marshall, Hallie, Brinley, and Charlie; siblings, Richard “Chip” (Peggy) Piper, Devin (Jaime) Piper, Dodie (Alan) Wilkins, Jenni (Mark) Comito, and Matthew (Jan) Piper; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Patrick is preceded in death by his father, Butch Piper; mother, Dorothy Witt; step-father, Delbert Witt; niece, Allie Loden; grandparents, Vivian and Tip Piper, Virgil and Marie Thorson.
