Plea change hearing set for Kanawha man on drug charges

KANAWHA — A plea change hearing has been scheduled for a Kanawha man facing drug charges.

35-year-old Frank Robbins was charged with intent to manufacture & deliver drugs, a Class B felony; two counts of possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense, each Class D felonies; and driving while barred for being an habitual offender, an aggravated misdemeanor after a traffic stop on August 20th on 120th Street outside of Kanawha.

A criminal complaint states that during the traffic stop, a K9 unit checked the vehicle with the drug dog having a positive alert. A clear baggie was found next to the driver’s seat with over an ounce of a substance later to be found as methamphetamine.

Robbins had pleaded not guilty to the charges and was scheduled to have his trial start this week, but District Judge Gregg Rosenbladt on Wednesday filed an order setting a plea change hearing for November 12th in Hancock County District Court.
