CHARLES CITY — Floyd County voters rejected a proposed Emergency Medical Services tax levy with 55% voting against it. If it had been approved, the levy would have raised up to $670,000 a year for five years in an effort to create a county-run ambulance service. The money would have come from a 69-cents per $1000 assessment on property taxes.
