Trump takes Iowa; Hinson, Feenstra re-elected to congressional seats

DES MOINES — Donald Trump won Iowa’s six Electoral College votes as he easily beat Kamala Harris with 56% of the vote.
== Three of the four Republican incumbents representing Iowa in the US House have won reelection. Republican Ashley Hinson won reelection with 57% of the vote in Iowa’s second congressional district over Democrat Sarah Corkery. Hinson, who defeated a Democratic incumbent in 2020, secured a third term in the US House with Tuesday night’s victory. Hinson, who was endorsed by Trump earlier this year, told a crowd of supporters in Cedar Rapids she looks forward to working with a Trump White House. Jodi Puffett of Delhi, the independent candidate who ran against Hinson, got about one percent of the vote.
== Fourth district Congressman Randy Feenstra finished 40 points ahead of Democratic challenger Ryan Melton of Webster City.
== In Iowa’s third district, Congressman Zach Nunn won with about 51.5% of the vote over his Democratic challenger Lanon Baccam. The First District race has not been called as of early this morning, as incumbent Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks held about a 400 vote lead over her challenger Christina Bohannan.
