MASON CITY — The “People’s Choice Award” winner for the River City Sculptures on Parade has been announced.

Mary Markwalter of the Sculptures on Parade organization made the announcement at this week’s meeting of the Mason City City Council.  “The sculpture, Slow Dancing, was created by Judd Nelson of Wayzata Minnesota, and is currently displayed on North Federal Avenue on the east side of City Hall.”

The public each year is invited to vote for their favorite sculpture between June 1st and September 1st, and as per the organization’s agreement with the City of Mason City, the city purchases the winning sculpture for permanent placement on the sculpture walk tour.
