Surf Ballroom receives $50,000 grant from Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa

CLEAR LAKE — The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake has received a $50,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa as part of the Surf District Destination Iowa project.

Mayor Nelson Crabb says it was one of three projects awarded a total of $300,000 from the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.  “We felt very fortunate that the Surf Ballroom here received that grant money, and once again, to complete the Surf District, all the activities that are going on there from the Music Enrichment and Immersive Center as well as the streetscape, as well as the approach from the lake to Three Stars Plaza and the new Music Enrichment Center.”

The other grants went to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank and the Waterloo Economic Mobility Hub.

Crabb made his comments during the “Ask the Mayor” podcast which you can view below
