GOP elects legislative leadership for 2025, Forest City’s Stone elected House Majority Whip

DES MOINES — Republican state lawmakers are keeping the same leadership for the next legislative session.
This week Representative Pat Grassley of New Hartford was re-elected as Speaker of the House, while Matt Windschitl of Missouri Valley will continue to be the House Majority Leader. Both have held those positions since the 2019 session.
John Wills was elected as Speaker Pro Tem while Henry Stone of Forest City was elected as the House Majority Whip.
Republicans re-elected Amy Sinclair as the Senate President and Jack Whitver as the Senate Majority Leader. Whitver has held that position since 2018 and has been undergoing treatment for a brain tumor, but information released by the Senate Republicans say recent scans have show the tumor is shrinking and many of his symptoms have improved.
