CEDAR FALLS — St. Ansgar and West Hancock play in separate Class A semifinal games later today at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
== Top-seed West Hancock takes an 11-0 record into their semifinal game with Madrid. The Eagles after a close second-round contest with Marcus-Meridan-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union blew out Woodbury Central 44-15 in last week’s quarterfinal round in what was a rematch from last year’s state title game. Madrid is 9-2 after beating Lisbon 27-14 in last week’s quarterfinals. == St. Ansgar faces Tri-Center of Neola in the other Class A semifinal. Both teams are 10-1 on the season, with the Saints only loss coming to West Hancock early in the season. St. Ansgar breezed to a 44-13 win over Maquoketa Valley in the quarterfinals last week while Tri-Center’s balanced offense beat Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center 47-20 in the quarterfinals.
