Cerro Gordo supervisors election recount underway

MASON CITY — A three-member panel has been working for about the last four hours overseeing the recount of the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors District 3 election.
After over 6200 ballots were counted, Republican challenger Carl Ginapp held a two-vote lead over incumbent Democrat Lori Meacham Ginapp, who requested the recount last week after the supervisors approved the canvass of the election. It was anticipated that the recount would be completed by early this afternoon.
Once the recount has been completed, we’ll have an updated story here on northiownow.com and the North Iowa Now Facebook site.
