THOMPSON — A Winnebago County man has pleaded not guilty to a sexual abuse charge.
36-year-old Kristopher Guthart of Thompson was charged with third-degree sexual abuse after an alleged underage victim during an interview at the Allen Child Protection Center stated that he forced her to have sex with him against her will in October 2023 after they went to a concert.
Guthart recently pleaded not guilty to the charge and waived his right to a speedy trial, with his trial now scheduled to start on February 26th in Winnebago County District Court. If convicted as charged, Guthart would face ten years in prison.
