Beverly Ann Arp, 82, Manly

Beverly Ann Arp, 82, of Manly, Iowa passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024 at
MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at
Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 East Spring Street, Manly, Iowa, with Rev. Dave
O’Connor officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
Burial will take place in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Manly, Iowa. A
luncheon will follow the burial at the American Legion, 116 E Elmore St, Manly,
Iowa.
Beverly was born on February 22, 1942, to Karl and Ruth (Bonjour) Froning. She
grew up in Burchinal, IA and later moved to Mason City, IA with her family where
she attended Mason City High School. Her first job was as a waitress at her parents’
café in Mason City, marking the beginning of a strong work ethic that carried through
her life. On May 7, 1960, Beverly married Marvin “Butch” Arp, and together they
were blessed with five children.
Over the years, Beverly’s career included roles at Alexander Manufacturing,
Fleetguard, Winnebago, Rockwell International, and as a cook at the Senior Center,
Manly. She found great joy in her work, especially in leading and participating in
annual fundraising efforts at the Senior Center.
In her free time, Beverly loved fishing, hunting, birdwatching, traveling, gardening,
shopping, sightseeing, playing cards, dominoes, eating at the senior center, family
dinners, and visiting casinos. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she cherished
the time spent with her family during the season. She had a special place in her heart
for her grandchildren and treasured her role as a grandma. Beverly was also a member
of the American Legion Auxiliary in Manly.
She is survived by her children, LeAnn Veal, Sandy (Rod) Kimpling, David Arp, and
Pamela Arp; grandchildren, Willie, Carrie, Ruthann, Karl, Peter, Crystale, Shelby,
Terry, Felix, Angelica, Cassie, Celena, and Rodney; numerous great grandchildren;
siblings, Georgie (Darrell) Holmes, Norine Thompson; as well as many other
extended family members and friends.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin “Butch” Arp; son, Terry Arp;
her parents, grandchildren, Christina Beth Kimpling, Dustin, Timothy, and Cody;
brothers, Bart and Gene Froning; special cousin, Larry Froning; son in-law, Willie
Veal; and her canine companion, Angel.
