Britt man pleads not guilty to sexual abuse

BRITT — A Britt man accused of sexual abuse has pleaded not guilty.
A criminal complaint accuses 32-year-old Joshua Lampe of assaulting a woman in August of this year. The complaint states that Lampe and the victim had been at a bar together most of the night and the victim made it clear that she did not want to be romantically involved. The victim reported once they went from the bar to a friend’s house that they along with the friend she was with were all intoxicated. The victim says she later woke up to Lampe assaulting her.
Lampe has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.
Lampe filed a written plea of not guilty on Tuesday in Hancock County District Court. His trial is scheduled to start on January 22nd.
