Kanawha man pleads guilty to drug charge

KANAWHA — A Kanawha man facing drug charges has entered guilty pleas as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.
35-year-old Frank Robbins was charged with intent to manufacture & deliver drugs, a Class B felony; two counts of possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense, each Class D felonies; and driving while barred for being an habitual offender, an aggravated misdemeanor after a traffic stop on August 20th on 120th Street outside of Kanawha.
A criminal complaint states that during the traffic stop, a K9 unit checked the vehicle with the drug dog having a positive alert. A clear baggie was found next to the driver’s seat with over an ounce of a substance later to be found as methamphetamine.
Robbins on Tuesday pleaded guilty to intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine over five grams but under five kilograms, a Class C felony, with the driving while barred and possession of a controlled substance charges being dismissed.
Robbins is scheduled to be sentenced on January 7th.
