Clear Lake boys 3-0 on season after win at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows

CLARION — The Clear Lake boys overcame a slow start to trounce Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 75-43 in the Lions’ North Central Conference opener last night in Clarion, as you heard on 103.7 The Fox and watched on northiowanow.com.

The Lions and Cowboys traded the lead back-and-forth through the first quarter, with Clear Lake having a 13-12 advantage after the first eight minutes. The Lions led 31-22 at half and pulled away with a 26-11 third quarter.

Thomas Meyer led Clear Lake with 19 points, while Jaxson McIntire and Max Larson each added 10. Clear Lake is 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference and will host Forest City in a non-conference game on Thursday night. The Clear Lake 1968 boys state tournament team will be honored at halftime of that contest.
