Mark Allen was born February 23, 1973 in Mason City, the son of Darrell Eldon and Nancy Ann (Nicholson) Klingfuss. Growing up in Northwood, he attended Northwood Kensett High School, graduating in 1991. Soon after, he began his career of hard work: first at Quality Pork in Austin, MN and then at Curries in Mason City. He had completed his 27th year at Curries prior to his diagnosis.

Mark will be remembered for his quiet kindness, practical nature, and unwavering willingness to help others. A true handyman, he had a knack for fixing just about anything, including his own home, which he renovated with skill and determination. Fishing trips with family and friends were among his favorite pastimes, offering him moments of peace and connection. Mark’s love for problem-solving extended to his collection of model cars, a hobby that reflected his meticulous and creative mind. He was a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan. Above all, Mark cherished time spent with those he loved, especially his brother, who shared in many of his greatest memories. His steady presence and caring heart will be deeply missed.

Surviving are his dad, Darrell Klingfuss; brother, Brian Klingfuss; aunts and uncles, Tina (Joe) Kuennen of Northwood, Donna (Russell) Hayes of Cisco, TX, and Bill (Terry) Nicholson of Northwood; close friends, Marcus, John, JD and Carol, and Kenny; his many caring neighbors; as well as extended family, and many other friends.

Preceding him in death are his mom, Nancy; maternal grandparents, David Obed and Anna Nicholson; paternal grandparents, Henry and Hilda Klingfuss; uncles, David Allen Nicholson, Jerome and George Klingfuss; aunt, Bonnie Andley; and friend, Dean.
