After reaching goal, Christmas Cheer Fund now focuses on helping people in 2025

MASON CITY — Even though over 1900 people have received some sort of assistance from the Christmas Cheer Fund, it does not mean that you can’t make a difference and donate to the cause.

Board member Cori Frein says they want to start thinking ahead to helping serve people in 2025.  “We know that there is an even greater need out there and we want to help as many people as we can. Any donations that are given through December 31st, that’s our deadline for receiving donations, but any donations that are received are going to just get us that much further to kick starting what we hope to be is an increase in our goal in 2025.”

 As of Tuesday, donors had contributed $121,751 to the Cheer Fund, surpassing this year’s goal of $100,000.
