Mason City man accused of possession of meth with intent to deliver

MASON CITY — The preliminary hearing is set for next week for a Mason City man charged with methamphetamine dealing.
In criminal complaints filed by the Iowa State Patrol, 44-year-old Brent Weisbrod has been charged with the Class B felony of possession of meth with the intent to deliver as well as the Class D felonies of control of a firearm as a convicted felon and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.
The complaint states that a search warrant was executed at Weisbrod’s residence in the 1300 block of North Federal on December 27th, with authorities allegedly discovering and seizing about a quarter pound of meth and a loaded 9 millimeter handgun.
Weisbrod is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a total of $35,000 cash-only bond. He’s due in court for his preliminary hearing on January 7th.
