Watts selected as Cerro Gordo County supervisors chair
MASON CITY — For the third time in his tenure as a county supervisor, Chris Watts has been selected to chair the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors.
The supervisors held their organizational meeting today to start 2025.
Second District supervisor Casey Callanan made the motion to appoint Watts as chair, with Watts being unanimously approved. Callanan was unanimously approved to be the vice chair.
Watts had previously served as chair in 2022 and 2019.
Today was also the first meeting for new supervisor Carl Ginapp, who will represent the Third District, which includes all of Mason City’s First Ward; the second and third precincts of the Second Ward; the first precinct of the Fourth Ward; as well as the communities of Rock Falls and Plymouth and the Falls and Lime Creek-Mason North townships.
