Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Office warns of scam phone calls

MASON CITY — The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office is warning people of scam phone calls happening with the caller claiming to be an employee of their office.
The Sheriff’s Office says they’ve been made aware of several citizens of the county receiving such phone calls, with the caller telling them they have unpaid fines, outstanding arrest warrants, or a need to appear in court to testify.
