Search process to start soon to replace Clear Lake’s city administrator

CLEAR LAKE — The search for a new city administrator for the City of Clear Lake will get underway soon.
Mayor Nelson Crabb says the City Council and department heads discussed the issue during a strategic planning session held last week. “In that process of looking for, searching if you will, a new possible city manager, and the search is not just local, but we will most likely get a search professional group to do that for us. That’s not been decided yet. That has to be approved by the council first, but that’s what we’re looking at the present time.”
Crabb says city staff members are stepping up in this transition period. “What we are doing at City Hall is we are meeting weekly if not more than that because we’re all right together here in our new renovated office, which has been very, very helpful to us. We have a great, great staff here. As to what type of city administrator are we looking for in the present situation that the city of Clear Lake is at now.”
Jacob Widman, who has been the city’s Finance Director for just over a year, took over as Acting City Administrator in mid-December.
Crabb made his comments on the “Ask the Mayor” podcast which you can listen to via the audio player below
