MASON CITY — Enjoy today’s warmer weather because extremely cold weather is on its way.
While we’ll see highs in the lower to mid 40s in north-central Iowa today, a cold front will be passing through, with highs in the lower to mid teens statewide and gusty winds on Saturday, and temperatures Sunday and Monday right around zero forecast for the Mason City/Clear Lake area. Sunday night’s low is forecast at -10 with Monday night being -13, with wind chill values dipping down between -20 and -30.
Things warm up again on Wednesday and Thursday with highs locally in the mid-20s.
