Grassley talks about Trump inauguration

WASHINGTON — Donald Trump’s inauguration is on Monday. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says even though he is President Pro Tem of the Senate, he won’t have any special responsibilities during Monday’s events.
Grassley says, “No I won’t have a role other than just as an individual senator. Maybe a more prominent seating because of being President Pro Tem, but beyond that, I’m just another senator going to show my appreciation to a president, whether it’s a Republican or a Democrat, for serving the American people and honoring him for a successful election.”
The post of President Pro Tem goes to the longest-serving senator from the party that has a majority of seats in the Senate. President Pro Tem of the Senate is third in line in succession to be president behind the vice president and the Speaker of the House
